2 Actors Dead Due to Negligence on Sets

Many a time we get so absorbed in the unreal world of fiction that we begin to believe the impossible. Such an ill-advised move was made by the authorities on the sets of “Masthigudi,” a Kannada film that was being shot at the Tippagondanahalli lake about 30 km from Bengaluru on Monday.

The people involved were so overcome by the larger picture that they forgot to see the small, but significant details. The scene was set for three people – the protagonist and the villains – to jump off a helicopter into the lake. A thrilling chase scene that ought to have ended the lives of the villains just on the big screen, but in reality ended on the stretcher. Duniya Vijay, Anil and Uday were the men in question. In spite of telling that the latter two didn’t know how to swim, false promises of ambulance and life boats were made to them– and so they jumped.

What were three, came out as only one. Vijay swam to safety to the shore while the other two unfortunately drowned. It took the unit over an hour to find their bodies. Police say the filmmakers and crew may be charged with negligence as there weren’t enough safety nets in place. The only jacket that was there was given to the hero and the other two were left o battle with their own lives. It’s ironic how the team gave preference to the hero despite the lives of the so-called villains being as important as the hero.

At the moment, the filmmakers are covering up their losses and tracks. Sources also say that supposedly no rehearsal or proper practice was done for the scene because the makers wanted everything to look “realistic.” Well it’s sad to say but the closer you can come to reality is when you find actual life staring at you.
