Author Shobaa De is quite famous (notorious) for picking up a beef with different members on Twitter with her scandalous tweets. The author on Wednesday tried to mock the Mumbai Police and was called out on her blunder. Shobaa put up a picture of an obese policeman and incorrectly identified him as Mumbai police.

The Mumbai Police gave her a fitting reply on Twitter and said “We love puns too Ms. De, but this one is totally misplaced. Uniform/official, not ours. We expect better from responsible citizens like you.” After this, the Twitterati took it on themselves to roast her and tweeted calling out her puns which are a failure and backfired on her.

Ms. De later tried to make peace with the Mumbai Police and tweeted, “Mumbai/Maharashtra Police, pranaam. No offense intended.” In the same tweet, De also asked the policeman to consult a dietician. After this, she faced flak for body shaming and making jokes that aren’t funny. Before the Mumbai Police replied some users identified that it was not uniform of the Mumbai Police and smacked her publicly.

Shobaa De has in the past too found herself in soup over her tweets, one such incident where she called out the Indian Olympians and how it was a waste of money to send them for participation. In another instance, she asked the Ministry Of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to tweet less and work more. The Twitterati again took it on them to blast her and asked her to follow her own advice.
