Finally, Rahul Gandhi is winning at something! The Congress Vice President’s name has been apparently submitted to the administration of Guinness World Records for the fact that he has lost a record number of elections – 27 to be precise.
An engineering student from Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh, Vishal Diwan, has approached the concerned authorities and filed the case. Diwan has even gone ahead and written a letter to the administration of Guinness Books and also paid the enrollment fees for the same. He has apparently also received a confirmation of acceptance of the application but the officials haven’t confirmed whether the request would be approved.
This is just one of the many mocks that Rahul Gandhi faces on a daily basis. The elections are a particular recent example with Congress failing in Uttar Pradesh, on a major scale despite having Lok Sabha constituencies in places like Amethi and Raebareli. In fact, Congress lost 4 out of 5 states that went to the polls, saving face only in Punjab and that too narrowly.
But looks like Rahul is out to win this record for the most number of elections lost. A prize for pappu! Atleast someone seems to be happy about it.
