The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had a resounding victory in the recent Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh. This did not sit well with the Samajwadi Party workers, who had been ruling the state for ages. BJP won 325 seats out of the 403 member assembly. The opposition parties have tried their level best to prove that BJP has tampered the elections in the State, including tampering with EVMs.

The leaders have been throwing dirt at each other after the results and this resulted in violence in Balia district in Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, the Samajwadi Paty workers torched the houses of villagers who voted for the BJP. This new low is an attempt to avenge the party’s defeat in the State. Most of the villagers in the Balia village voted for BJP which invited the ire of Samajwadi Party leaders who burned down their houses.

This incident was reported from the Rajbar area where not only did the SP workers burn down the houses but also beat up the villagers in which many were injured. The villagers approached the police and informed them about the incident after which the authorities deployed strict police forces, who controlled the situation.
