My words about Demonetisation will cause and earthquake in the Parliament- Rahul Gandhi

The winter session of the parliament began three weeks ago and there have been many disturbances in the winter session on the topic of Demonetisation. The congress party and other opposition parties have relentlessly criticized the decision of Demonetisation to discontinue the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes. There has been a severe cash crunch in the country and the burden is mainly on the middle and poorer sections of the society. These do not have the access to new notes yet and the shortage of lower denomination notes is creating a crisis in the rural areas.

Speaking about this Rahul Gandhi said, “This note ban is the biggest scam in the history of India. I want to speak in Lok Sabha about it. I will tell everything there. For a month we’ve been trying to debate on demonetisation. We want the issue to be clear.” After the parliament session, he asked, “PM Modi is speaking on the issue at different places in the country, why is he so scared of coming to Lok Sabha and speaking on it.” The opposition has been agitated about the absence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament sessions. The opposition has also challenged the PM in the Parliament session to face their questions.

Slamming his statements on the Prime minister, BJP mocked Rahul Gandi saying that, “He is not taken seriously even by his own party.” BJP spokesperson, G.V.L. Narsimha Rao said that “Rahul Gandhi can be compared very well with Uttara Kumar of Mahabharata, who is known to make tall claims but he is indeed a coward and a comic character. Along with that, he is not taken seriously by anybody because he simply does not deliver on the claims he makes. Rahul Gandhi is Uttara Kumar of Mahabharata and has no political gravitas to really make comments that make sense.”

While the Demonetisation is in effect full swing, the leading party, and opposition has been at a war of words. The parliamentary sessions have been solely disrupted by the issue of Demonetisation with Congress blaming the Prime Minister for rushing into the decision to implement Demonetisation.
