On Tuesday Reliance Jio made yet another big announcement about the launch of Jio Prime subscription plan. This has created a tension among the rival telecom networks like Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and Tata Docomo. The subscription prime plan continues the unlimited free services at nominal prices offer that Jio has launched till March 31st, 2018.

It is yet ti be seen how many users will actually opt for the Jio Prime subscription plan. With this development, it is still unclear how the other telecom operators will keep up the plan for the next year.

All you need to know about the Jio Prime subscription plan

  • Jio plans on extending the unlimited services under the Happy New Year offer for another year after the subscription to the plan. This prime plan is limited to the existing 100 million users and also those who join the plan before March 31st, 2017. This means those who are in the current Jio network can use unlimited mobile data at Rs. 10 per day for the next year.
  • The subscription is priced at Rs. 99 but to avail free mobile data and all other benefits you have to pay Rs. 303 per month for the next year. The subscription for Jio starts from March 1st, 2017 and continues until March 31st, 2017. After March 31st one will not be able to avail the Rs. 303 bundle plan of Jio.
  • The subscription can be done on MyJio app or Jio.com website. Also, any Jio store or partner store can be approached to avail the plan.
  • In the plan, one gets unlimited mobile data for a year, with a 1GB limit per day, media, and contents of the Jio apps suite. The statement by Jio says, “There will be many other attractive deals and offers from both Jio and its partners [for] the Jio Prime members.” For the existing users that do not opt for Jio Prime one can avail free voice calls, this includes roaming, but have to pay for the data and other services through prepaid or postpaid plans.
  • Also, Mukesh Ambani announced that apart from Jio Prime, Reliance Jio will soon set up a process that keeps tabs on the rival operators best selling plans and match these plans and provide 20% extra data.
