New video of Hizbul Mujahideen

The new video of Hizbul Mujahideen showing a group of armed militants hugging, greeting and celebrating was recently posted and circulated on social media like Facebook and Whatsapp. The video was a reminder of the campaign undertaken by its former commander Burhan Wani who was killed in an encounter.

In the 4 and half minute video, the militants are seen in an orchard carrying weapons which also included INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) rifles apparently snatched from police forces. The videos is said to be an attempt to lure youth to join their militancy.

Wani was an active user of social media who used to propagate his ideas with such videos before he was terminated. In another video, which also surfaced recently, the new Hizbul commander, Zakir Rashid Bhat alias “Musa” is seen asking youth to join militancy by snatching rifles from security forces.armed
In the past few months, there have been activities of snatching or looting police men and security personnel of the state. By far, at least 67 rifles have been pilfered which include INSAS and carbines, that are exclusively used by the police and security forces.
