Barack Obama, the outgoing US President gave his last address as the President on Thursday. In the speech, he warned President-elect Donald Trump indirectly. He also said that if Americans work together as an entity, they will be able to surpass all hurdles.

On Friday in the early hours, the President wrote an emotional public letter thanking the nation and urging them to participate in their ‘daily acts of citizenship.’ He wrote, “Before I leave my note for our 45th president, I wanted to say one final thank you for the honor of serving as your 44th,” the outgoing commander in chief wrote. “Because all that I’ve learned in my time in office, I’ve learned from you. You made me a better president, and you made me a better man.”

In the letter, he recalled the highs and lows of his Presidency, from the troubled times like the shooting in Charleston Church and also achievements like the legalization of gay marriage. He also urged the citizens of USA to fulfill their duties as citizens, whatever their political affliction maybe.

He said, “I’ve seen you, the American people, in all your decency, determination, good humor and kindness. And in your daily acts of citizenship, I’ve seen our future unfolding.” He also added, “All of us, regardless of party, should throw ourselves into that work – the joyous work of citizenship. Not just when there’s an election, not just when our own narrow interest is at stake, but over the full span of a lifetime.”
The President also took digs at the President-elect in referring to issues on which the Mr. Obama and his successor have differences. The President-elect has vowed to abolish Obamacare, regarding which Obama mentioned the success of the scheme. He also made subtle digs at Trump’s issue with refugees and the people of color that are settled in America.

The President, who has time and again proved his care and concern for the Nation assured Americans again that even in a post-White House life, he will be engaged in all the issues that he cares about.
