White House Website Gets Whiplashed

Swearing in as the 45th President of United States of America, Donald J. Trump can be accounted to one thing if nothing else – he sure does what he says. The problem with that? Those words aren’t what we need, and those words turn into actions that we can’t afford. In a startling transition just hours after the ceremony, the White House website was swiped clean of some major issues that need to be dealt with – Climate Change, LGBT issues, Civil Rights and Immigration.

This comes as a great shock but not a surprise because this is what Donald Trump had been vouching for throughout his campaign. Building a wall to stop immigrants from coming in, rejecting even the idea of climate change, denying LGBT community of basic rights and denying a progress in civil rights as a whole are just some of the issues that Trump seems to get done through his Presidency. This became even more evident when the White House page turned up zero results when citizens searched for these terms on the website.

Under Obama’s administration, the official website had a tab of issues which had the following points:

  • Economy
  • Education
  • Energy and the Environment
  • Immigration
  • Health Care
  • Civil Rights
  • Disabilities
  • Ethics
  • Family
  • Fiscal Responsibility
  • Foreign Policy
  • Homeland Security
  • Poverty
  • Rural
  • Seniors & Social Security
  • Service
  • Taxes
  • Technology
  • Urban and Economic Mobility
  • Veterans
  • Violence Prevention
  • Women

Trump’s version of White House Website has the following points under consideration:

  • America First Energy Policy
  • America First Foreign Policy
  • Bringing Back Jobs And Growth
  • Making Our Military Strong Again
  • Standing Up For Our Law Enforcement Community
  • Trade Deals Working For All Americans

There may be a certain leniency given here as it is customary for the incoming administrations to delete all existing materials on the official site. But given Trump’s stance of these issues and these issues only particularly being deleted, it seems like a far fetched thought.

It certainly seems like a moment of alarm as Donald Trump even quoted ‘Bane’ from the Batman series of all people! Hope it’s not a case of Gotham Gone Wrong. Only time will tell.
