Andhra Pradesh’s CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the flood-affected areas in BR Ambedkar Konaseema district and interacted with the flood-affected victims.

At least 52 villages in the district are still heavily waterlogged and over 1.96 lakh people affected. During the visit, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke to the flood victims of G.Peddapudi in Gannavaram Mandal and inquired about government assistance.  In addition, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister traveled by foot and on the tractor to speak to the people of the area.  He also asked if they were looked after in the relief camps and how they would rank the district collectors’ work.

Some of the survivors said that the volunteers have been doing good work in the area.

Besides, visiting Konaseema district, now known as BR Ambedkar district, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is also scheduled to meet flood victims of Arigelavaripet, Vadrevu Palli, Nagullanka, and other regions.

Meanwhile, after the tour in the flood-hit region, a meeting would be held with the flood victims in Mekalapalem.

Later, in the evening, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, would reach Rajahmundry in the evening and stay at the R&B Guest House.  A review meeting would be held with the officials on the relief measures taken during the flood in the East and West Godavari districts.  In addition, the ruling YSRCP Government provided Rs. 2,000 to 94,000 families, each as immediate relief.  Government advisor Mr. S.R.K. Reddy said 25 kg of rice and other essential commodities were also distributed to the affected families.

Notably, Andhra Pradesh has been receiving widespread rains, and a flood-like situation has been created in various regions of the state. The relief measure works under the officials of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is also underway, to help the flood-hit victims in the region.
