In Andhra Pradesh, political chaos erupted after the arrest of  100 JanaSena Party (JSP) leaders and supporters, on the 16th of October, Sunday.

Notably, the arrest of the JSP leaders and supporters were arrested in the wake of an alleged attack on the convoy of Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman, while receiving Mr. Pawan Kalyan, the JSP Chief, at the Visakhapatnam Airport.  In addition to the TTD Chairman, the JSP leaders also allegedly attacked the convoy of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Ministers, on the 15th of October, Saturday.

Acting upon the incident, the Andhra Pradesh Police filed a case as per the complaint of the YSRCP leaders Mr. Jogi Ramesh, Ms. R.K. Roja and Mr. Subba Reddy, and arrested approximately 100 JSP supporters and leaders.  Moreover, the attack was said to be against the three state capital plan proposed by the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP Government.

Meanwhile, after the arrest of the JSP leaders and ministers, Mr. Pawan Kalyan addressed the media on the 16th of October.  During the media interaction, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, “Police arrested over 100 JSP (Jana Sena Party) supporters and filed 307 cases against 15 members who asked for permission for the Janavani programme. On Saturday midnight, police came to my hotel room and banged on my door.”

In addition, Mr. Pawan Kalyan also announced to the postponement of the Janavani programme, which was scheduled to be held at Port Kalavani Stadium in Visakhapatnam on the 16th of October.  Mr. Pawan Kalyan said the decision to postpone the programme was in the wake of the arrest of over 100 key JSP supporters.  The party also claimed the arrest of the JSP leaders and supporters as a tactic of the ruling YSRCP Government to obstruct the growth of the JanaSena Party in the Telugu State.

Furthermore, the Visakhapatnam Police also issued a prohibitory order to Mr. Pawan Kalyana and his JSP, restricting them to hold any public meeting, gathering or processions until the 31st of October.
