In Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, at least 30 girl students fell ill after eating hostel food at their hostel.
On the 22nd of February, students ate lunch at Akka Mahadevi Hostel in Kuppam municipality, Chittoor. Notably, the Kuppal constituency is under the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Initially 30 students were admitted to the hospital, later 17 students were taken to a private hospital and are undergoing treatment there. It is suspected that the students fell ill after consuming food at the hostel which was a part of their afternoon lunch.
Meanwhile, the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu urged the administration to provide proper and adequate medical treatment to victims.
Further, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu has written a letter to the district collector demanding an inquiry into the incident and appropriate action.
