Continuing the investigation of the Vivekananda Reddy murder case, the Special Investigation Team, (SIT,) on the 3rd of January, intensified its probe and interrogated the staff of Haritha Hotel in Kadapa, A.P.
Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) died on the 15th of March, 2019. His body was found in a bathroom around 5:30 A.M., at his residence in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh.
Initially, it was reported Vivekananda died due to a cardiac arrest, but after the postmortem report, it was suspected he was murdered as he had several injuries on his body.
Soon, Vivekananda’s murder became a big matter in the A.P., due to political involvement. Both the YSRCP and the TDP played the blame game and alleged each other of being responsible for the murder.
In recent updates about the investigation, the SIT received a tip off that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Member of the Legislative Council Ravindranath Reddy, alias B. Tech. Ravi, checked in to the Haritha Hotel. The SIT enquired the hotel manager and room boys whether B. Tech. Ravi, one of the suspects in the murder case, checked into room number 102 on the 14th March, 2019. B. Tech. Ravi was also questioned on the 6th of December, 2019.
Parameswara Reddy, a close aide of Vivekananda Reddy, is the prime accused in the murder case. SIT officials believe B. Tech. Ravi, along with Parameswar Reddy, are connected with the murder as the duo met on the 14th of December, 2019, after Ravi was enquired.
However, the SIT officials did not reveal any details about the suspects or the accused as the investigation is still going on. So far, the SIT recorded the statement of nearly 850 people, including Vivekananda Reddy’s neighbours, family members and YSRCP leaders. Now, the TDP leaders are being interrogated.
On the other hand, B. Tech. Ravi filed a petition against the SIT and demanded the case be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI.)
The Kadapa Police and the SIT are still investigating the case and trying to solve the Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
