Ms. Vidudala Rajani, the Andhra Pradesh State Medical and Health Minister announced that Andhra Pradesh would soon have a family physician system for the citizens.
On the 31st of August, Ms. Vidudala Rajani addressed the media and said, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is planning to start a family physician system. The decision was taken by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, during a meeting to review the Health Department of the State. Chaired by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the meeting was held in Guntur and was attended by the officials of the State Health Department.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the officials of the Health Department informed about the plans and door to door medical services after the implementation of the family physician system. In regard to this, the YSRCP Government would appoint 176 new medical officers and 1,681 mid level health providers. In addition, approximately 65 types of new medicines would be made available in YSR Health Clinics.
Ms. Vidudala Rajani said, “Special apps have also been made available to all levels of staff to enter the details online and mobe medical unit (MMU) vehicles will be ready in 45 days.” She further said, Chief Minister, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has increased the scope of Aarogyasri and provided free corporate medicine to all the poor in the State.
It is to be noted, the new Family Physician system would be like extended medical services for the beneficiaries of the Aarogyasri Scheme. Those treated and discharged under Aarogyasri Scheme would get additional medical services through this family physician system. The services would have online doctors and would receive complaints regarding unsatisfied treatments under the Aarogyasri Scheme by hospitals and other benefits in the health sector.
