On the 7th of May, Andhra Pradesh reported 56 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
This is the lowest daily tally in many weeks in districts like Kurnool, Krishna, Guntur and Nellore. However, Vizianagaram district which has not reported a single count of COVID-19 till date, registered three cases for the first time today..
The Andhra Pradesh Health Department conducted as many as 8,087 samples tested, out of which, only 56 samples were tested positive.
The decreased number of positive cases is said to be a relief for the State Government, as the number of cases decreased from previous weeks.
While Kurnool reported only 7 cases, Krishna district reported 16 cases and Guntur district reported 10 cases.
With these updates, the total cases of the Novel Coronavirus reached 1,833. Out of the total, 1,015 are active cases with 38 fatalities till date.
