Political parties across India will campaign for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to extend their support and strength, ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Political parties such as the Trinamool Congress (TMC,) the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP,) the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD,) the Janata Dal (Secular) [JD(S)] and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are in support of the TDP.

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the President of the TDP, kick started the campaign in the State and was handling the process alone.

The star campaigner of Andhra Pradesh was conducting the campaigns single handedly in all the constituencies of Andhra Pradesh for both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

However, Mamata Banerjee, the TMC Chief, said, she would like to campaign for Naidu in Andhra Pradesh, as the duo share a friendly relationship.

The reason to support each other could be the fact, both the TDP and the TMC want to remove the BJP and prevent the Party from coming to power again.

Recently, Mamata Banerjee and Naidu, along with Arvind Kejriwal, the President of the AAP, Sharad Pawar, the President of the NCP, and Rahul Gandhi, the INC President, conducted a meeting and proposed an alliance.

Though the alliance did not work out as the INC refused to be a part of the alliance, the other party leaders still stood for the TDP.

Ms. Banerjee and Mr. Kejriwal will campaign on the 28th and the 31st of March in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam respectively.

On the other hand, Mr. Pawar and Deve Gowda, the President of the JD(S,) will campaign in Anantapur and Kurnool on the 28th and the 31st of March.

The other leaders who will support the TDP’s campaign are Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD and Farooq Abdullah of the National Conference, who will accompany Naidu to his campaigns in Kadapa and Kurnool, on the 2nd of April.

The Party is said to be one of the tough competitors of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the JanaSena Party, with tremendous political support across India.

Andhra Pradesh will contest a total of 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on the 11th of April 2019.

The major parties contesting the elections are the YSRCP, the TDP and the JanaSena Party.

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.

Stay tuned for further updates about the Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
