The Winter Session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly resumed on the 16th of December.

On the 8th day of the ongoing Assembly session, Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas, the Deputy Chief Minister for Health in Andhra Pradesh, tabled the health schemes of the AP Government for discussion.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government implemented several health schemes in the past 6 months for the benefit of Andhra Pradesh’s citizens.

During the Assembly session, the opposition Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) raised doubts about the health schemes and alleged the YSRCP of wasting money.

TDP members said the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP is wasting public money on schemes which do not benefit anyone.

Reacting to the TDP MLAs’ criticism and allegations, Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas said the TDP should find out about the schemes before raising issues and pointing fingers at the YSRCP Government.

Justifying his point, Deputy Chief Minister for Health Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas said when the TDP was in power, it failed to keep the hospitals in good condition and implement health schemes for the benefit of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

He said, “The Government brought more than 2000 diseases under Arogyasri. The Government is also taking post hospitalisation care of people by paying Rs 225 per day.”  He further added, “Funds of Rs. 900 crores have been allocated for the development of hospitals.”

In the past, the YSRCP Government launched several schemes to ensure better medical treatment for the citizens of AP in Andhra Pradesh as well as the AP citizens residing in Chennai and Hyderabad.

The health schemes and the YSR Aarogyasri scheme would be implemented in January 2020.  The health schemes by the YSRCP Government are expected to benefit approximately 5 crore people of Andhra Pradesh.

Stay tuned for further updates.
