With the continuous rianfall in Andhra Pradesh, the Godavari river is getting flooded.

According to officials, on the 12th of July, at present the inflow and outflow of water is 5,91,269 cusecs at Dhawaleswaram.  In regard to this, the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Organisation has alerted the officials of the flood-affected districts and advised that the flood risk is being monitored from time to time and people should be alert.

The Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Organisation has taken steps in the face of rising floods.   Furthermore, two NDRF and three SDRF teams have been deployed for early emergency relief operations.

The authority also appealed to the people to cooperate with the authorities in relief operations and advised people in catchment area to take proper precautions.

Meanwhile, the gates were lifted as the flood level of the Krishna river increased from above Prakasam Barrage.

Officials released flood water downstream. The people of the low-lying areas have been warned to be alert as the water is released downstream.

It has been clarified that boats, motor boats and steamers should not travel in the river. Swimming, fishing and bathing in flood water should not be done.

Meanwhile, continuous rainfall is disturbing the regular life of people, with the directives issued by the revenue officials.

The villagers in P. Gannavaram, Allavaram, and Mamidikuduru mandals stopped the boat operations, and are highly worried about the flood situation in the State.

Furthermore, in certain areas in the Konaseema district, the power supply is disrupted owing to the flood-like situation.
