The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 26th of August, cancelled permission to treat the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 patients given to five private hospitals in Vijayawada.
The decision to cancel permission was taken after the State Government received several complaints regarding excess fees at private hospitals.
Recently, The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government launched an inquiry into complaints from patients. In regard to this, authorities issued orders revoking the permits of five COVID-19 care centers in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
The hospitals which are no more authorised to treat COVID-19 patients are: Ramesh Hospital for violating the rules and charging high fees, Lakshmi Nursing Home, Indo British Hospital, Andhra Hospitals and Hotel Sun City.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh reported 10,830 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
With this, there are 3,82,469 positive cases, 92,208 active cases, 2,86,720 recovered or discharged cases and 3,541 deceased.
