The Andhra Pradesh (AP) Government, on the 14th of October, issued a set of guidelines for the provision of 75 % jobs to the locals in Andhra Pradesh.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) formulated the guidelines to provide employment to the local youth of the State in factories and companies.

The State Government asked the factories and industries of AP to follow the rules designed by the State Government for job recruitment.

According to the rules, vacancies in joint ventures, factories and other industries in the State need to be filled by the locals.  Companies under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) also need to hire 75 % of the local youth.

The hired candidates could be technical experts, highly skilled, skilled or unskilled people.  The appointment should be divided in three quarters, starting from January 2020. Nodal agencies should be notified about unskilled candidates so they can be given proper training to improve their skills for the company.

Anyone living in Andhra Pradesh for the last 10 years is eligible under this law of 75 % jobs to locals.  The beneficiaries of the law should have a ration card, water bill, electricity bill, voter ID card, gas connection card, aadhaar card, bank pass book or any government identity.

If a company in AP fails to meet the criteria of the State Government, the Government could take legal action against the company under Section 5 of the Labour Act.  The company may also be fined an amount of Rs. 25,000.

The YSRCP announced the provision of 75 % jobs to the locals to fulfill the promise of increasing the employment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.

Stay tuned for further updates.
