Despite the ongoing dispute between Employees and Government, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is set to release the pension as per the new rules.

It is to be noted, the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) issue between theGovernment and employees intensified.  Recently, on the 24th of January, the employees union decided to go on strike and issued a notice regarding the same to the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Sameer Sharma.

The employees are against the recent Government Order (GO) issued over the PRC.  The PRC Sadana committee comprising employees, teachers, workers, and pensioners passed a unanimous resolution for the strike.

The Employees Union also refused to participate in a high-level committee set up by the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government for discussions with employees.  They made it clear that it would hold a discussion only if the YSRCP Government abolishes the GO over PRC.  Notably, similar to the Telangana employees, the Andhra Pradesh Government employees are also demanding over 28% fitment.  However, the Chief Secretary (CS) formed committee refused the demand and provided only 14.7% fitment to the employees, citing the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Now, despite the ongoing war, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, decided to release the pensions for 2021, as per the new Government Order (GO.)  Notably, the Andhra Pradesh Government asked to send pensioners list to the Finance Department, following which it will release the pension as per PRC.

On the 29th of January, Saturday, the 11th PRC was sent to the treasuries, and pensions would be released through CFMS.  The Finance Department also directed the District Division Officers (DDOs) to complete the process by the 1st of February.

Meanwhile, Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Employees Unions’ United Front on Friday, the 28th of January, extended support to the employees.  The APSRTC said they would stop operating buses immediately after they receive a directive from the PRC Sadhana Samithi, who are protesting the new pension orders.

The PRC Sadhana Samithi will start a protest and call for a strike on the 7th of February.   In addition, the PRC committee, gave a call to start the “Chalo Vijayawada” protest on the 3rd of February, refusing to accept the new PRC.
