The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government recently decided to fill the vacant posts of volunteers for village and ward secretariats across the State.

In view of filling the vacancies, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) initiated a process to complete the recruitment in the State.

The YSRCP would issue a notification regarding the job vacancies in January 2020 and start the recruitment for the same.

Girija Shankar, the Panchayati Raj Commissioner, issued a notice and directed the district collectors to submit a report which mentions the vacancies and job posts in the districts and villages.  The report would also include details about the vacant posts available for Scheduled Tribes (STs,) Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Backward Classes (BCs.) The report must be submitted by the evening of the 23rd of December.

The Panchayat Raj Department assured it would start the recruitment process by the 25th of December for a total of 26,728 Gram and Secretariat jobs.  There were a total of 1,26,728 jobs, out of which only 26,728 are vacant as 1 lakh candidates joined and are currently undergoing training.  The remaining vacant positions would be filled by January 2020.

The recruitment process would be based on a test which the candidates need to give.  Government officials would select candidates based on the merit lists.
