The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government, on the 20th of February, announced an order benefiting physically challenged people in the State.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government issued a notice according to which 4 % jobs would be reserved for the citizens of A.P., with disabilities.

The Department of Women, Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, released the statement regarding the same on the 19th of February, 2020.

The government order (GO) providing 4% reservation in jobs includes people having autism, mental disorder, multiple disabilities and people with intellectual disabilities.

The A.P., Government decided to implement the reservation after the Central Government implemented it.

The Central Government announced the reservation for disable  people in 2011, but in 2016, the Central Government increased it to 4%.

The new implementation would help hundreds of people in Andhra Pradesh with employment, decreasing the unemployment rate.   However, even if the State Government announced to have reservation in job recruitments, the government departments have authority to remove giving clear reason, if the hired person is not performing well.

The implementation of the Act and process would be taken care by a committee organised specially for the new reservations.

The Inter Departmental Committee would be chaired by Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare and Secretary to Government.
