AP HC To Hear Chandrababu Naidu’s Plea Against CID Notice

On the 19th of March, the Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) is scheduled to hear a petition filed by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)

Nara Chandrababu Naidu filed a petition against the Crime Investigation Department (CID) issued notice.

On the 15th of March, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) registered a first information report (FIR) against Nara Chandrababu. The registered FIR was linked with the Amaravati land scam, done during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) The CID of A.P., charged Chandrababu Naidu for various procedural irregularities in the Capital City Project in 2014. The CID registered a case under Section 120 B (conspiracy) and Sections 166, 167 and 217 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC,) read with Prohibition of Assigned Lands Alienation Act of 1977 and the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) Prevention of Atrocities Act.

According to the filed petition, Nara Chandrababu Naidu alleged the CID notice to be a political rivalry. Mr. Naidu also alleged the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) of being behind the notice issued to Chandrababu Naidu and P. Narayana, the former ministers of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) in Amaravati Land Irregularities.

The Court hearing is yet to begin.
