Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology (IT) and Industries Goutham Reddy tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

On the 23rd of April, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Minister Goutham Reddy confirmed being COVID-19 positive through his Twitter post.  He posted a tweet, which read, “I have shown mild symptoms upon testing, my report came as COVID positive. I am taking required treatment and currently in isolation. Those, who have met me in last one week, pls follow covid protocols, get tested & pls take care.”

Goutham Reddy has been isolated at his residence in Hyderabad, Telangana. He is currently showing mild symptoms with mild fever and is currently under supervision of doctors in Hyderabad.

The minister is being treated under the supervision of doctors who is with mild fever. Gautam Reddy suggested that those who had met him personally in the last two or three days should undergo a Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 test.

Due to Goutham Reddy’s health condition, today’s event with Microsoft‌ on skills development training has been postponed.

Recently, Goutham Reddy was in headlines for briefing about the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 situation.   He clarified that there is no shortage of oxygen in the state. He said Andhra Pradesh was the first priority in terms of oxygen and would supply it to other states only after the state’s needs are fulfilled. Authorities were ordered to supply oxygen on a war footing to Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore and Kurnool districts. Field surveillance has been set up on the medical oxygen supply.
