The Andhra Pradesh State Government would soon finalise the probation period of village/ward secretariat employees.

On the 27th of January, Thursday, The State Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said, the Government would take steps to finalise the probation by the end of June 2022. Addressing the media, Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government is aiming to provide door to door services to people of Andhra Pradesh. Recruitment and finalising the probation period of ward secretariat employees would be a major step towards the same.

In addition, the YSRCP Minister informed about a coordination committee meeting, chaired by him. He said, during the meeting held on Thursday, the committee discussed the system of village, ward volunteer, village and ward secretariats.

The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Dharmana Krishnadas, the Municipal Minister Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana, the Social Welfare Minister Mr. Vishwaroop, the Power Minister Mr. Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Mr. Sidiri Appalaraju, the Village and Ward Secretariats, the Spandana Advisor Mr. Dhanunjayareddy and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

Notably, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, also ordered to fill the vacant posts in the village and ward secretariats expeditiously. He also ordered Village and ward secretariat staff to be available to the public daily from 3:00 P.M to 5:00 P.M.

Ajay Jain, the Special Principal Secretary, Village and Ward Secretariats, has been directed to take the respective departmental certificates regarding the performance of the staff working in the Village and Ward Secretariats.

As of now, there are 11,162 secretariats in villages and 3,842 in towns with a total of 15,004 secretariats.

In addition, a total of 14,493 posts are vacant in village and ward secretariats, which would be filled soon.
