Andhra Pradesh Government extended the ongoing night curfew, till the 14th of February.

Amid the third wave of the Wuhan virus, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government decided to extend the curfew.  Like previous, the curfew would be in place from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

However, people traveling to airports and railways, having medical emergencies are exempted from the imposed curfew. In addition, the Government asked the people to follow COVID-19 protocols strictly, to curb the spread, especially to senior citizens and children.

The State Government issued a Government Order to this effect on the 1st of February.  The order was issued by Mr. Anil Kumar Singhal, the Principal Secretary of the Health, Medical and Family Welfare of Andhra Pradesh.

The State Government also said, following Covid appropriate behaviour is a must at all congregations.

The Andhra Pradesh Police, district authorities and collectors were asked to ensure everyone follows the COVID-19 guidelines and implemented curfew.

Anyone found violating the guidelines would have to face strict action and consequences including hefty fines. The action would be taken under the Disaster Management Act 2005 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
