On the 26th of September, the Uday Express train, the inauguration of which was delayed by a few days, finally started running between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
Suresh Channabasappa, the Railway Minister of Andhra Pradesh, around 11:30 A.M., on the 26th of September, officially inaugurated the Uday Express, a double decker AC train.
The train will run five days a week between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. The train was launched from Platform 1 of Visakhapatnam Railway Station.
The Uday Express is specially designed for the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada route. The AC train is equipped with new facilities such as a dining area, TV and tea and coffee vending machines. The train will run five days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.)
The tickets will cost Rs. 525 per head. Train number 22701 will leave Visakhapatnam at 5:45 A.M., and will arrive at Vijayawada around 11:15 A.M.
The Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Express (22702) will leave Vijayawada at 5:30 P.M., and reach Visakhapatnam at 11:00 P.M.
The train will have a total of 9 AC coaches and will stop at Duvvada, Anakapalli, Tuni, Sumala Fort, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem and Eluru.
Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, Members of Parliament (MPs) and other members were present during the inauguration of the double decker Uday Express.
