In Andhra Pradesh, the Rajamahendravaram road cum railway bridge across the river Godavari, will be closed for one week.
On the 14th of October, Friday, Ms. K. Madhavilatha, the District Collector of East Godavari, issued an official notice in this regard. Notably, the bridge would be closed from the 14th of October, for one week due to repair works.
The official statement read, “The road-cum-railway bridge will be repaired. The vehicular traffic between Rajamahendravaram and Kovvuru on the bridge will be diverted for one week to complete the repair works.”
However, the scheduled trains passing from the road cum railway bridge will have no restrictions. The bridge will only be closed for vehicular traffic between Rajahmundry and Kovvuru. In addition, the repair works are being conducted by the Road and Building Department and the Indian Railway Authority in Andhra Pradesh.
Moreover, to ease travel for commuters, two wheelers would be diverted towards Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage and the other transport vehicles would be diverted towards the fourth bridge in East Godavari.
