Heavy rainfall has raised concerns in parts of Andhra Pradesh, with overflowing drains adding to the problem. Low-lying areas are facing increased water levels, putting nearby homes and roads at risk.
In Bhimavaram, the Yanamadurru drain is overflowing after heavy rain, causing water to back up through the drainage system and collect in low-lying areas.
Authorities have issued a second-level danger warning and placed the area on high alert. Water has also entered some homes, and officials have advised people in low-lying areas to move to safer places.
Meanwhile, the Gostani River is flowing strongly near Palakoderu. Floodwater has also entered a local electrical substation in the area.
Officials are keeping a close watch on the situation as water levels remain a concern in the affected areas.
