Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has granted flexibility to secretariat employees handling pension distributions in areas affected by heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh. Acknowledging the challenges posed by the adverse weather conditions, the Chief Minister has allowed for pension distribution to be extended by one or two days if necessary. He directed collectors to avoid placing undue pressure on secretariat employees and emphasized that the distribution should proceed as scheduled in areas unaffected by the rains.
Speaker Ayyannapatrudu announced that new pension disbursements would begin on October 2, with plans to remove pensions for those deemed ineligible. The distribution of pensions has been progressing smoothly across the state, with cash payments being made to beneficiaries since the morning. The process has been expedited in areas not experiencing heavy rainfall. Due to September 1 being a holiday, pension distribution was conducted a day earlier than planned.
