On the 2nd of November, Tuesday, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) congratulated Dr. Dasari Sudha, the newly elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Badvel constituency.

Ms. Dasari Sudha, the MLA candidate of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) won the Badvel Assembly by-election with a huge margin on 90,000 votes. 

Extending congratulatory message to Ms. Sudha, the State CM and the YSRCP President said, “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to every sister, brother, and who provided an astounding victory in the Badvel Assembly by-election. My congratulations to Sudhamma.”   In another tweet, he said, “I consider this victory as a blessing for democracy and good governance. I will work hard to do better.”

On the 2nd of November, after 12 rounds of counting of votes, Dr. Dasari Sudha, the YSRCP Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA,) won with a majority of 90,089 votes in the by election.  It is to be noted, the Badvel Assembly constituency MLA seat fell vacant after the demise of Dr. Venkata Subbaiah, the former MLA of the constituency.

Dr. Sudha secured 1,11,710 votes, whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA candidate Mr. Punthala Suresh secured only 21,621 votes. 

The lowest number of votes were secured by the Indian National Congress (INC,) with 6,205 votes only. 

The victory of the ruling YSRCP Government is said to be a major setback for the opposition trying to rule the State in the next A.P., Assembly election.   After the announcement, the YSRCP leaders and cadres celebrated the victory of the Party in the Assembly election across the State and at the Party office in Tadepalli.
