Former Union Finance Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg, New Advisor To AP CM

Subhash Chandra Garg, the former Finance Secretary of India, on the 1st of March was appointed as the Advisor to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Mr. Garg will be the advisor for resource mobilisation to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for a tenure of 2 years.  The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government assigned the rank of Cabinet minister to Subhash Chandra Garg and issued a government order regarding the same.

Besides the appointment of Mr. Garg, the YSRCP also appointed Kartikeya Misra, an IAS officer of the 2009 batch.  IAS officer Misra would hold the position of the Special Secretary for resource mobilisation and institutional finance in the Finance Department.

Notice regarding Mr. Misra’s appointment was issued by Nilam Sawhney, the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

Kertikeya Misra would also take over the additional charge as the Managing Director (MD,) of the A.P., State Financial Corporation.

Subhash Chandra Gard is an  Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1983 batch  of Rajasthan cadre. Mr. Garg served for the Central Government, the Rajasthan Government, and was Executive Director of the World Bank.
