The Cyclone Warning Centre in Visakhapatnam, on the 10th of October, issued heavy rainfall and thunderstorm alert in Andhra Pradesh. 

According to the Cyclone Warning Centre, the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh is likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next three days.

An official of the CWC said, “Squally wind speeds reaching up to 40 to 50 km and gusts up to 60 km are likely over the central Bay of Bengal, off Andhra Pradesh and Yanam coasts.”

The cyclone warning centre also advised fishermen not to venture into the sea for the next three days.

The Official of CWC said, “A low pressure area has formed over the north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood in the early morning of Friday (the 9th of October.) It lay over the north Andaman Sea and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal on Friday morning.”

According to the cyclone centre, the low pressure is very likely to move west and north westwards to intensify into depression over the central Bay of Bengal by the 10th of October.

The official also said, “Further moving west northwestwards, it is very likely to cross the north Andhra Pradesh coast as a depression on Monday (the 12th of October) morning.”

The heavy rainfall has been forecasted till the 12th of October.
