The Andhra Pradesh (AP) Assembly Budget Session concluded on the 30th of July in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The AP Budget session started on the 11th of July and continued for 14 days.
During the 14 days of the session, the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) took some key decisions for the welfare of the citizens of AP.
The Budget session witnessed intense arguments, allegations, development proposals and discussions between the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSRCP.
Highlights of Budget Session 2019:
1) Demolition of illegal constructions across the State.
2) Introduction of the School Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission Bill, 2019.
3) The decision to demolish the residence of N. Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of AP and the President of the TDP, was also discussed in the House.
4) The House also discussed regarding sand exploitation, Kapu reservation, Polavaram project, alcohol bans, power purchase agreements, unemployment issues and the implementation of Navaratnalu schemes.
5) Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of AP, introduced 20 new bills in the House, which were aimed at establishing a corruption free and transparent government in AP.
6) Apart from the bills passed, Tammineni Sitaram, the Speaker of the AP Assembly, also suspended a few Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the TDP for causing disturbance during the session.
Tammineni Sitaram adjourned the Budget Session on the 30th of July.
