On the 30th of June, the Andhra Pradesh Government conducted a Cabinet meeting. During the meeting, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., and the State Cabinet ministers discussed various issues in the State and took crucial decisions.

The meeting was chaired by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday, at the State Secretariat.

Some of the major decisions taken during the meeting:

The Cabinet approved the purchase of mobile veterinary ambulances across Andhra Pradesh.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government decided to launch a massive campaign for the construction of 28 lakh houses as a part of the Navaratnalu (nine promises made during the election campaign.)

The State Cabinet approved the modalities for the construction of 2,62,216 houses by the TIDCO.

The State Government also gave the green signal to provide laptops to 9th to 12th class students under the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme.The Cabinet also gave nod for the establishment of Andhra Kesari University on the outskirts of Ongole in Prakasam district.

The State Cabinet decided to change the Vizianagaram JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University) Engineering College into a varsity and amend the JNTU Act-2008.

It also approved a bank loan guarantee of Rs. 5,990 crore for infrastructure under the approved 2021-24 Information Technology (IT) Policy.

The Cabinet also discussed the setting up of a regasification terminal at Kakinada Port and allowed it to conduct joint operations with the Maritime Board.

The YSRCP Government agreed to an amendment to the Land Rights Act, which now can issue certificates to reserve graduates.

The Cabinet also approved to allot 81 acres of land to Nakkapalli Hetero Drugs in Visakhapatnam district.

The Cabinet has agreed to supply water by gravity, under the initial phase for water supply under Rayalaseema Drought Prevention Project to Puttaparthi constituency.

The cabinet, which discussed the concept of infrastructure in the medical sector, approved the purchase of 539 new 104 vehicles for Public Health Centres (PHCs) across A.P.

It also gave the green signal for setting up a new police station in Vijayawada.

The State Government also announced to observe Farmers’ Day on the 8th of July, the birth anniversary of the late Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the father of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Cabinet approved the setting up of 45 new rythu bazaars and the construction of 1,262 godowns at the village level in A.P.

The Cabinet gave a nod to the 12 proposed projects at a cost of Rs. 1,444.95 Crores, which includes the opening of 100 integrated agriculture and aqua labs, 645 community hiring centers, and 1,898 permanent buildings of RBK.

The State Government also announced that the Chief Minister of A.P., would be inaugurating 53 Veterinary Hospitals, Dispensaries, Rural Livestock Units, which were set up at a cost of Rs. 31.74 crores.

In addition, yesterday’s Cabinet meeting also discussed the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic, measures taken to control the spread and the ongoing vaccination drives in A.P.

The State Government also discussed measures and prior preparation to fight the possible third wave of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) The State Cabinet has focused on the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana water disputes over the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project.

State ministers, senior leaders and other officials of the Andhra Pradesh Government attended the meeting.
