A man suspected to be involved in the killings of three security guards in Sagar town of Madhya Pradesh has been held, a senior police official said here on Friday.
Based on the CCTV footage of the locality, we picked up the accused Shivprasad Dhruve in the early hours from Bhopal. Our investigations are underway,” Sagar Inspector General of Police Anurag.
According to the police, the accused has confessed to murdering four guards in the last five days while his role in the murder of another watchman found dead in May is under investigation.
The accused has been identified as Shivprasad Dhruve, 19, a resident of the Kesari area in Sagar. He was arrested after he killed a guard in Lal Ghati area of Bhopal.
On Thursday night during initial interrogation, Dhruve told police officers that he was inspired by the movie KGF’s ‘Rocky Bhai’ and had plans to raise funds, become a gangster and target policemen in the future.
Adding to the interrogation, Dhruve told the Senior police officers that he simply wanted to become ‘famous’.
However, police are yet to ascertain why he was targeting only sleeping security guards. According to sources. Dhruve was arrested by a team of policemen triangle, tracing his mobile phone. The mobile phone, which led to his arrest allegedly belongs to another security guard he had murdered in Sagar this week.
There was a cooling of the period between his first attempt to murder which he claims to have committed in Pune, Maharashtra and the next in Sagar MP.
Notably, three security guards were murdered in separate incidents in Sagar in last 72 hours earlier this week, creating panic.
A total of four security guards were attacked. While three of them died, one has been hospitalised in Bhopal.
While the first case was reported in May, the second took place on Monday and the third and fourth were carried out on Tuesday.
The first victim was identified as Uttam Rajak, while Sambhusharan Dube and Kalyan Lodhi were killed on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
