K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, asked the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to be in the field, in rain affected areas.
Mr. Rao on the 20th of October, asked all the district officials and MLAs to be in the field for the needy people and ensure all the compensation amount reaches the affected people. He asked all the concerned officials to be across the State in the affected areas for the next 10 days.
In the past few days, as many as 50 people lost their lives in several rain related incidents and properties were damaged.
In regard to this, along with several financial aids, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced an ex gratia of Rs. 5 lakhs to the deceased families, Rs. 50,000 to people whose houses are washed away or badly damaged and Rs. 10,000 to all rain affected families in Telangana.
The Municipal Minister during a meeting asked all the MLAs to supervise the relief measures at the shelter camps by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC.)
In addition, KTR also asked the officials to supervise the maintenance and restoration works in the affected and damaged areas.
Besides, as per the directions of the Telangana Chief Minister, all the MLAs and Members of Parliament (MPs) decided to contribute their two months’ salary to the CM Relief Fund l for the rain affected issues in the State.
In addition, the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) issued an advisory and announced an orange alert for rain in Telangana.
According to the issued advisory Telangana is likely to get rain for the next two days.
