Vijayawada: AP High Court grants regular bail to Telugu Desam party President N Chandrababu Naidu on health grounds in alleged skill development corporation scam case. Naidu is currently out on interim bail to undergo eye surgery and he underwent the surgery at Hyderabad recently.
High court bench of justice T Mallikarjuna Rao heard the arguments of both the parties. Supreme court advocate and senior counsel Siddhartha Luthra appearing for Naidu argued that the case is politically motivated and there is no evidence against Naidu. He also produced health reports of Naidu to the court.
Additional advocate general Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy appearing for the government requested the court not to grant bail as investigation is in key stage. He said that Naidu may tamper with evidence. He also objected to the medical reports produced by Naidu and asked the court to get reports from a government doctor.
Court kept aside the arguments of AAG and granted regular bail to Naidu.
Court directed Naidu to produce the medical reports, regarding his treatment, before the Special Court, Vijayawada on or before Nov 28 instead of producing the same before the Superintendent, Central Prison, Rajamahendravaram.
The court also relaxed the conditions imposed against Naidu from participating in political rallies and meetings from November 4 onwards.
