Nara Lokesh, the General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and other TDP leaders paid tribute to Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on his 25th death anniversary.

Nara Lokesh paid tributes to his grandfather and the founder of the TDP, the late NTR.

Speaking on the occasion, Nara Lokesh said, Mr. NTR entered politics at the age of 60 and founded the Party. He achieved success and ruled Andhra Pradesh as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were one state) for development of the State and the people.

Nara Lokesh said, Sr. NTR made history with the welfare regime and launched several schemes benefiting the people of Andhra Pradesh during his reign.

Mr. Lokesh took to Twitter and said, “,సామాన్య రైతుబిడ్డగా పుట్టి వెండితెర దేవుడై వెలిగి మనిషి ఎదగడానికి పట్టుదల, కృషి ఉంటే చాలని నిరూపించారు. అరవై ఏళ్ళ వయసులో రాజకీయాల్లోకి వచ్చి సంచలన విజయాలతో, సంక్షేమ పాలనతో చరిత్ర సృష్టించి ఏదైనా సాధించడానికి వయసుతో పనిలేదని, చిత్తశుద్ధి ఉంటే చాలని నిరూపించారు. దటీజ్ ఎన్టీఆర్.” (A farmer was born as a child and shone like a silver screen god. He proved that perseverance and hard work are enough for a man to rise to a higher level.)

Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the TDP, said, “Even though 25 years have passed since Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who spread the self respect and fame of Telugu people to the world, has passed away, his aura seems to be still visible.”

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, a popular Telugu actor launched the TDP in 1982. He created a record of sorts by coming to power within nine months, ending the single party rule of the Indian National Congress (INC.)

NTR died on the 18th of January 1996, a few months after he was unseated from power by his son in law Chandrababu Naidu.

Stay tuned for further updates.
