In view of the upcoming festival of Navratri and Dussehra, the South Central Railway (SCR) announced special trains from Vijayawada to Secunderabad.
According to sources, the new special trains would begin from the 1st of October, Sunday. Notably, the Secunderabad–Tirupati (02764) train, which departs Secunderabad at 8:05 P.M., on the 1st of October would reach Tirupati at 9:00 A.M., the next day.
On the return journey, the train 02763, Tirupati-Secunderabad would leave Tirupati at 5:00 P.M., and reach Secunderabad at 5:45 A.M., the next day. Major halts in this Secunderabad-Tirupati/ Tirupati-Secunderabad route would be Jangaon, Kazipet, Warangal, Mahabubnagar, Dornakal Khammam, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole, Gudur and Renigunta stations.
In addition to Secunderabad-Tirupati, the Central Railways would have another special train, Secunderabad-Yeshwantpur (07233) which would leave Secunderabad at 9:45 P.M., on the 29th of September, the 6th of October, 13th and 20th of October. Highlighting the return journey, the train would operate on the 30th of September, 7th of October, 14th and 21st of October.
Besides these, special trains have been allocated via Narsapur-Secunderabad-Narsapur via Guntur division, only on the 30th of September and the 1st of October, for people travelling home for the festival.
Notably, every year during the Dussehra festival, the South Central Railways announces special additional trains, to avoid the rush and to make travel easy for passengers.
