TDP Leaders In Visakhapatnam Support AP Government For 3 Capitals

On the 25th of December, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders conducted a meeting at a five star hotel in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

The Party leaders of Visakhapatnam conducted the meeting to discuss the developments of the A.P. Government regarding the proposal of having 3 capitals. Recently, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) announced to have three capitals for the State.

Though the final decision regarding the capital of A.P., is yet to be taken, it is expected the State would move ahead with the three capitals. According to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), executive capital would be Visakhapatnam, legislative capital would be Amaravati and judiciary capital would be Kurnool.

While many TDP leaders and JanaSena Party leaders opposed the decision of having 3 capitals, TDP leaders in Visakhapatnam welcomed the decision of having Visakhapatnam as one of the capitals.

Manitha Srinivasa Rao, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the TDP and his cadres supported the decision.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP Government gave its clarity regarding the lands given to the State Government for the development of Amaravati as the State Capital. The YSRCP said it would return the land of the farmers, which was taken by the previous Government, the TDP for development purpose.

The Cabinet meeting scheduled on the 27th of December would decide whether the State would have 3 capitals or not.
