On the 2nd of January, a few Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders are under house arrest. 

According to sources, the TDP leaders called for an agitation and were about to move to Ramateertham.

The protest was called after the TDP President, N. Chandrababu Naidu announced to visit Ramateertham village in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.

Recently, an idol of Srirama was demolished and dumped in a lake near Kodandaram Rama temple.

The incident crated a ruckus between two political parties, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the TDP.

In the wake of the incident, the TDP criticised the YSRCP and started an agitation.

TDP President Chandrababu Naidu also planned to visit the village and see the temple premises today, the 2nd of January.

On the other hand, concerned over the TDP leaders, who decided to walk to the temple and protest, the YSRCP Government directed the police to control the situation.

The State Government felt, the protest would create nuisance and ignite unwanted things, following which the TDP leaders are kept under house arrest.

The police force surrounded the homes of leaders and restrained them from stepping out of their homes.

Karrothu Narasinga Rao, the TDP President of Vizianagaram, I.V.P. Raju are kept under house arrest.

V.Vijay Sai Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP) of the YSRCP visited Ramateertham temple at 11:00 A.M., today.
