Prathipati Pullarao, a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 26th of December, warned the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government there would be a massive protest if the Government does not revoke the decision of having 3 State capitals.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) during the Winter Session of the A.P., Assembly, proposed to have 3 State capitals.

On the 27th of December, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., is scheduled to conduct a Cabinet meeting, during which they would take a final decision regarding the State’s capital.

Mr. Rao addressed the media and said if the State Government goes ahead with three capitals, the TDP would call for a bandh on the 28th of December.

Prathipati Pullrao said the people of the State are waiting for the State Cabinet meeting and expect the decision to be in support of the citizens, who want Amaravati to be the sole State capital.

Meanwhile, farmers of Amaravati are continuing their protest against the YSRCP, demanding the State Government withdraw its proposal of having 3 State capitals.

The YSRCP proposed Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Amaravati be made Andhra Pradesh’s executive capital,  judiciary capital and legislative capital respectively.

The Cabinet meeting on the 27th of December is scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam.
