K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 9th of September, the first day of the Budget session, announced the State Budget for the fiscal year 2019-2020.
The State granted a total of Rs. 1,46,492.30 crores for the development of the different departments of Telangana.
T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, will present the Budget in the Telangana Legislative Council. The final Budget was decided during the Cabinet meeting held on the 8th of September, after the oath taking ceremony of the newly inducted Cabinet ministers.
Highlights of Telangana Budget 2019-2020
Capital Expenditure: Rs. 17,274.67 crores
Public Debt: Rs. 32,900 crores
Public Debt Repayment: Rs. 9,265.77 crores
Revenue Receipts: Rs. 1,13,099.92 crores
Loans and Advances: Rs. 8,896.02 crores
Other Non-Tax Revenue: Rs. 23,934 crores
Share of Central Taxes: Rs. 19,718 crores
State Taxes and Duties: Rs. 69,328 crores
Other Expenditure: Rs. 11,078 crores
Development Expenditure: Rs. 78,027 crores
The State allocated Rs. 12,000 crores for the Rythu Bandhu scheme, Rs. 1,137 crores for the Rythu Bhima scheme and Rs. 6,000 crores for farm loan waivers.
Apart from these, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government allocated Rs. 9,402 crores for Aasara pensions and Rs. 2,714 crores for the development of Gram Panchayats.
In addition, the State also reserved a sum of Rs. 1,764 crores for the Municipalities in the State.
