In Telangana, a local court announced its verdict in a three year old sexual assault case.
The court on the 19th of May, Friday, pronounced five years imprisonment to a man who allegedly misbehaved and sexually assaulted his minor daughter. The court also slapped a fine of Rs.1,000 on him.
Notably, the case was registered with the Malkajgiri Police in October 2020. A 30 year old man, a watchman, made sexual advances towards his daughter in the absence of his wife.
The girl escaped from there and informed her mother, who later approached the police. The police charged the accused under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and was arrested by the Malkajgiri police. The trail in the matter was undergoing, following which under the fast track process, the local court pronounced the punishment.
