Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy, the Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) held a press conference and announced the successful conclusion of the annual Brahmotsavam of Tirumala temple.
On the 5th of October, on the occasion of Dussehra, Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy said, with the collective efforts of the officers, staff, district administration, police, servants of temple and devotees of all departments of the TTD, the annual Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara Temple was a success.
Accompanied by Mr. E.V. Dharma Reddy, the Executive Officer (EO) of the TTD, Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy said, a total of 5.69 lakh devotees visited Tirumala during Brahmotsavams. Of the total, 81,318 people visited Swami on one Garudaseva and more than three lakh devotees participated in Garudaseva.
He said that 24.89 lakh laddus were sold and the income of hundi was Rs.20.43 crores during the annual celebration. The chairman said that 20.99 lakh people were served meals and snacks during the eight days of Brahmotsavam. Addressing the media, Mr. Y.V. Subba Reddy said, “1906 artists from 91 art groups from seven states under the auspices of Hindu charitable projects displayed in Tirumala and Tirupati along with vehicle services.”
In addition, this year, the TTD took an initiative and arranged special buses to bring 6,997 backward class people from the 26 districts of the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh, providing free entry for darshan, food and other facilities.
