On the 25th of May, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) sold approximately 2.4 lakh laddus to devotees.
The first day sale collected an amount of Rs. 60 lakhs by selling 2.4 lakh laddus at a subsidised price of Rs. 25 each.
Usually the laddus cost Rs. 50, but due to the pandemic crisis of the Novel Coronavirus infection, the TTD authority sold laddus at a price of Rs. 25 each.
The laddus of Tirumala Shrine of Lord Venkateswara were available at the TTD headquarters of 12 districts of Andhra Pradesh. Laddu sale in Guntur was banned due to the severe impact and heavy spread of the Novel Coronavirus in the district.
Speaking about the preparation of laddus, the TTD ensured hygiene and followed all the guidelines of the COVID-19 precaution.
On the other hand, the devotees gathered to buy laddus were asked to queue by following social distancing norms.
As of now, the sale of Tirupati Prasadam only began in Andhra Pradesh. The TTD is soon going to sell Tirupati laddus in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana.
