YS Jagan Conducts Review Meeting With The GN Rao Committee

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,,) on the 28th of November, conducted a meeting with the GN Rao Committee members. 

 Named as the GN Rao Committee, the expert committee was constituted to review the existing development plans and suggest a strategy for growth and development of Andhra Pradesh and Amaravati, the State Capital.

G.N. Rao, an Indian Administration Service (IAS) officer, is the Convenor of  this expert committee.

The committee members are: Prof  Mahavir, professor of planning, Dr. Anjali Mohan, Urban and Regional Planner, Shivananda Swamy, Professor of the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology in Ahmedabad, K.T. Ravindran, retired professor at the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi and Dr. K.V. Arunachalam, retired Chief Urban Planner in Chennai.

 During the review meeting, G.N. Rao and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy discussed the study and interactions of the GN Rao Committee with the Administration officials of Krishna district and Vijayawada. The committee members also highlighted about the vacant plots in AP, which could be used for industrial and other developments. 

The meeting was organised after the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) resumed development works at Amaravati.

 Recently, during a Cabinet meeting, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy asked  concerned government officials to restart Amaravati’s development works under the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA.)

 The GN Rao Committee is expected to submit a detailed report and a blueprint regarding AP’s development soon.
