Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, along with the Union Jal Shakti Minister Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, would tour Polavaram R & R colonies and inspect the ongoing Polavaram project.
The East Godavari tour would begin through a photo exhibition set up at the spillway on the progress of the Polavaram project.
According to sources, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat left Gannavaram Airport for Polavaram at 9:15 A.M. Later, they visited Indukuru 1 Rehabilitation Colony at Devipatnam Mandal in East Godavari District at 10:00 A.M., and interacted with displaced families there. At 11:20 A.M., the two ministers will have an interactive session with the residents of Thadavai Rehabilitation Colony in West Godavari district.
The Union Minister Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and CM Mr. Y.S, Jagan Mohan Reddy would visit the Polavaram Dam site at 12:30 P.M., and inspect the construction work, including the fish ladder works, guide bund works.
After inspecting, they would discuss the works of the Upper Cofferdam and the Earth Come Rock Fill (ECRF) Dam along with Spillway, spill channel, earth rock rock dam dia wall, upper and lower cofferdams.
Concluding the day, the union minister and the Andhra Pradesh CM would conduct a review meeting with the Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Department officials and Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) at the project site.
It is to be noted, the Union Jal Shakti Minister reached Vijayawada for the Polavaram Project inspection tour, on the night of the 3rd of March.
Furthermore, after inspecting the biggest irrigation project, the Jal Shakti Minister of India, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat would attend a few cultural events in Vijayawada and would leave for Delhi.
